How your assets are protected

We utilize Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology to secure your assets from Layer 1 (L1) blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Private keys required to move crypto assets are split and distributed across multiple MPC hosts on a decentralized network, requiring approval from a majority of independent MPC hosts to verify the authenticity of a transaction request before processing it. When you deposit an asset from an L1 blockchain, security entitlements (SE) are issued and held through self-custody in your Figure Wallet. The SEs are traded on the exchange and represent your right to the deposited assets. When you want to withdraw your Bitcoin from the exchange, you surrender your SEs and the MPC hosts process your withdrawal to an BTC address you provide.
